6.1. Collectors
Collectors are data collection threads that pull metrics from monitoring interfaces of Operating Systems and Databases Mangement Systems. Each one is configured through at least one - but not limited to one - policy, whether it is enabled and how often it is scheduled to select metrics. The default collection interval is 60 seconds which is good at first but can lead to a high amount of data for those collectors pulling more than one row per interval. We recommend to adjust to a lower interval (like 15min) for collectors that can collect a lot of data (see collector list and the "many data" tag - data amount depends on number of objects). The configuration is done via Web Frontend: menu → configuration → Policies
